Starlit Design

Anne Hoefinghoff founded Starlit Design in 2016 and is its creative director. She is the clear voice between client and creative, with a background in communications and global brand partnerships. The studio has about two decades of work in luxury hospitality branding behind it.

Anne leads a deliberately small studio. It stays boutique by choice, so each brand gets full attention from the same senior people, from first idea to final piece.

Starlit Design is a brand studio for luxury hotels, resorts and safari lodges. It is based in Cape Town and works worldwide. Its clients are hospitality businesses, not the general public, so this is a studio to approach if you are opening, renaming or refreshing a property.

The work is organised in four disciplines. Brand strategy and positioning covers messaging frameworks, tone of voice, mapping the competition and brand guidelines. Visual identity covers logo design, colour systems, typography, photography direction and packaging. Web design and digital covers website design and development, interface and user experience design, social media templates and motion direction. Product and production covers print production, special finishes, liaison with suppliers and quality control, so that what was designed is what arrives.

Starlit works in places across Africa, including the Serengeti, the Cape Winelands, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Kenya and Tanzania, as well as Europe, the Middle East, the Indian Ocean and Asia, with Seychelles, Mauritius, Amman, Bahrain, Rome, Berlin and Vietnam among them. The portfolio includes work for international hotel groups.
