Family dentist and implant care in Oranjezicht, Cape Town

Dr Tienelle de Jager holds a cum laude postgraduate diploma in implantology and treats the whole family, from first check-ups for young children to crowns and implants. The practice favours preventative, conservative dentistry and uses tooth-coloured fillings instead of amalgam, in a period house opposite De Waal Park.
However, and this is a BIG however, my experience at Molteno Dental Practice was nothing short of amazing.
My experience with Molteno Dental Practice has been nothing short of incredible. I would without hesitation recommend Molteno Dental Practice.

Dr Tienelle de Jager
Dr Tienelle de Jager qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD) in 2018 and joined Molteno Dental Practice as an associate dentist in 2020, working under the mentorship of Dr Jean Strydom, who had built the practice's reputation in Cape Town after joining in 2004. In 2022 she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Dentistry in Implantology, awarded cum laude, and she took over as Principal Dentist the same year when Dr Strydom emigrated.
Since then Dr de Jager has kept studying, with courses in advanced restorative and implant dentistry through the Implant and Aesthetic Academy. Her interests cover general and cosmetic dentistry, advanced restorative work and implantology. She enjoys the balance between precise surgical work and the artistry of aesthetic dentistry, and she aims for results that are both functional and natural looking.
Molteno Dental Practice
Molteno Dental Practice is a private dental practice at 12 Molteno Road in Oranjezicht, opposite De Waal Park and part of the Cape Town Medi-Clinic complex. The surgery is in a gabled period house with timber floors and shuttered windows, a setting that feels more like a home than a clinic.
The practice works on the belief that your teeth should last you a lifetime. In practice that means preventative and conservative dentistry: regular check-ups, biomimetic materials and techniques that keep as much healthy tooth structure as possible. White, tooth-coloured fillings are used and the practice does not place amalgam fillings.
Services cover the whole family, from check-ups and cleaning with the oral hygienist to children's dentistry, root canal treatment, crowns and ceramic onlays, dental implants, teeth whitening and SPARK clear aligners. Molteno Dental Practice is private and not contracted to medical aid schemes. Accounts are settled on the day of treatment, and the team provides the paperwork needed to claim back from a medical aid. Major debit and credit cards are accepted.
Patients can see the oral hygienist for a cleaning on the same day as a check-up. Children are welcome from about the age of four, so they can get used to the surroundings early.
