Margaux van den Berg and Sunelle Ferreira
Margaux van den Berg and Sunelle Ferreira run Blank Canvas together. Between them they have 16 years in the wedding and events industry, and they work from Cape Town in the Western Cape.
Both of them plan and coordinate, and a third planner, Sune Ebersohn, covers Gauteng. Margaux and Sunelle choose each supplier themselves, to suit the couple's vision and budget, and every supplier signs off the timeline before the day.
Many of their couples live abroad, and the planners handle the preparation from a distance so the couple can arrive and enjoy it. The business has grown beyond weddings and events into travel planning, logistics and curated experiences.
Blank Canvas
Blank Canvas is a wedding and event planning business in Cape Town, run by Margaux and Sunelle. They plan local and destination weddings, from elopements to large luxury celebrations, and they work with any budget.
There are two ways to work with them. Full co-ordination covers the whole wedding: supplier selection, all supplier communication and payments, a moodboard, a detailed timeline and running order, and Margaux and Sunelle on site from the moment the first supplier arrives until the dance floor opens. On the day co-ordination suits couples who have already booked their suppliers. It starts with a walk-through at the venue, then the planners take over supplier communication a week before the wedding and run the day.
Blank Canvas works in the Western Cape, the Garden Route and Gauteng, and plans weddings for couples from around the world. They also plan corporate events such as product launches, gala dinners and year-end functions, and help with concepts, budgets, decor styling and logistics.
